There are so many gorgeous places to photograph here in England, but sometimes your own front yard is the best place for your session. For Sam + Tim their farmhouse in Holme, England was perfect for them. Originally we were planning their session in London, but with the travel times and permits, we decided to keep it close to home. (I was quoted 275£ per hour to photograph in London because it is private property) . Plus, they wanted to photograph their new car, Kitty. (Photographing a couple with an old British car has been a dream/goal of mine since we arrived.) . With the farmhouse, the beautiful English fall weather, and an antique car - all we needed for a bit of throwback was their vintage styled clothing - BOOM! back in the 1920’s.

These two adorable humans met online along with so many of the couples I have photographed. Online romance is where it’s at nowadays, so if you want to find a mate for life, go online. What really makes Sam + Tim unique - besides their love for each other - is that they are swing dancers! I would have asked them to jive for me, but it was actually quite cold, so I stuck to asking them to pose for photos. There was a perfect spot on their front lawn where the sun was shining through the trees, so that is where we set up. I didn’t have to do too much to make these two get in the photo mood - they are deeply in love and you can tell as soon as you see them. I absolutely adore the vintage feel of these images and hope to create more sessions like this in the future. They loved them so much, that they printed the photos for Christmas gifts - fantastic compliments!

Kristin + Brett had a low-key wedding at the Foothills Art Center in Golden, Colorado. They were so laid back that when Kristin filled out her questionnaire about the wedding, she didn’t have many requests and really just wanted to have a fun wedding with the ones she loved. I am sure some of the reason she was so laid back was because she had a great wedding planner for her big day - Adrienne with .A Touch of Bliss Events. I was so happy the planner was there because we had to make a last minute decision to move the ceremony inside due to a thunderstorm, and she was able to coordinate it all seamlessly. Kristin + Brett were perfect throughout all of it too and didn’t let the last minute change affect their attitudes at all.

We were able to get all of the couples portraits, family formals and bridal party photos completed while the sun was shining. And while we were outside, a charity fun run of locals in red underwear wanted photos with the bride and groom! Nothing like some “I’m with Cupid” underwear to be added to your wedding album, huh?!?! Once Kristin + Brett said “I do,” they had a local food truck provide the food for the evening and once we made it through speeches, the dance party was able to move to the outdoor courtyard because the rain had finished. It was slightly wet outside, but the guests simply removed their shoes and barefoot danced the night away!

It was a pleasure to be a part of Kristin + Brett’s wedding day! Many of my couples over the past year have booked engagement sessions with me as well, but they had only booked me for their wedding day. Sometimes this can be difficult for people to meet their couples on the day of the event and not before. Thankfully, we meshed perfectly and they thanked me for my direction and sense of humor throughout the entire day. They trusted me to capture everything and we came away with beautiful images and timeless photographs they will cherish forever.
